We began the business of sharpening clipper blades and scissors in 2004, initially named ‘Clipper Smart’, as a result of recognising that there had become an increased demand for the sharpening of blades for both domestic and commercial uses. However, after a short while running and realising that we could offer our blade sharpening services on a larger scale, we decided that a rebrand was in order.

Now, as Northwest Sharpeners Ltd, we are operating as a family company dedicated to providing a professional sharpening services to a variety of different sectors, including but not limited to the pet, equine, veterinary and beauty salon industries.

Since rebranding and developing the range of blade sharpening services on offer, Northwest Sharpeners Ltd have now expanded and are thrilled to provide a national (UK) postal service, which also includes free return postage and packaging for scissors and clipper blades. We wanted to ensure that we could offer the same high quality, fast turnaround sharpening to other businesses across the UK, in addition to continuing to serve our repeat customers here in the North West of England.

Northwest Sharpeners Ltd are also pleased to be a little more personal too, which means that we continue to provide a ‘drop off and collect’ service to our more local customers. We wanted to ensure that our customers are able to use our sharpening service at their utmost convenience, so where possible, we will ‘sharpen while you wait’ at our workshop near Wigan in Lancashire.

This includes both left- and right-handed scissors with either bevelled, serrated or convex edges.  Other blades we can sharpen include but are not limited to: knives, garden tools and DIY tools (such as garden shears, chisels and axes, for instance).
